AHRC Creative Communities Wales Policy Sprint

The AHRC Creative Communities programme Wales Policy Sprint was hosted by the Wales Innovation Network (WIN). The Sprint mobilised co-creation methods and creative facilitation to encourage cross-sector discussion, identify opportunities and tackle challenges using culture as a lever to unlock the potential of national devolution.

The Wales Innovation Network is a collaborative initiative that was established to strengthen research and innovation in Wales. It facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration, helps to form partnerships and shares infrastructure and expertise.

The AHRC Creative Communities team shared policy proposals and recommendations from the Wales Policy Lab to a diverse range of stakeholders including policy makers, researchers, funders, third and private sector and community organisations.

The Sprint considered specific Welsh policy contexts, including opportunities created by the Future Generations Act, the Welsh language as an environmental resource, the ability of a small nation to move quickly and the need for multi-level local, devolved and national policy connections.

Findings from this event will inform policy recommendations in the Wales Devolution Policy Provocation Paper.
