New AHRC Creative Communities Advisory Board Members

As the AHRC Creative Communities programme continues to grow, our external Advisory Board is also scaling to include new members.

We have been joined by:

  • Sophie Anstee de Mas, who leads on the new AHRC investment ‘Spaces, Places and Belonging: Community Hub’ at the National Archives
  • Tania Banotti, Director of the whole-of-government Creative Ireland Programme established by the Irish government in 2017 and renewed in 2023 for 5 years
  • Paul Bristow, Director of Policy and External Relations at the National Lottery Heritage Fund – the largest funder for the UK’s heritage

The new members will work alongside the existing team to provide expert guidance and cross-sector knowledge, aiding the programme team in exploring how co-created culture can enhance belonging, address regional inequality, deliver devolution, and break down barriers to opportunity with communities in devolved settings across all 4 nations of the UK.

Sophie, Tania and Paul join our existing Advisory Board members:

  • Mark Andrews, Senior Strategic Development Manager for Adobe Education
  • Prof Tom Crick, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Professor of Digital & Policy and Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor (Civic Mission) at Swansea University
  • Erica Judge, Director of Funds at Inspiring Scotland
  • Andrew Mowlah, Director of Research at Arts Council England

You can find details of the Advisory Board, the programme team and our research across the website.
