The Community Innovation Practitioner (CIP) awards are a signature investment of the AHRC Creative Communities programme.
Our CIPs are engaged in place-based collaborative innovation in the policy contexts and research ecosystems of the devolved nations and mayoral authorities of the UK.
The CIPs are instrumental in advancing devolution by fostering research that bridges the gap between central policy and local cultural needs. Their work explores how devolved powers can drive locally specific solutions rooted in diverse cultural identities across the UK and empower communities to lead innovation that reflects their unique heritage, challenges, and aspirations.
Their research fosters cross-sector collaboration, bringing together a creative community of cultural organisations, policymakers, and local stakeholders to create innovative, community-led solutions that respect regional identities, strengthen capacity and meet the diverse needs of communities across the UK.
