UKREiiF 2026

Prof Katy Shaw, Director of the AHRC / UKRI Creative Communities programme, joined the 2026 UKREiiF annual conference to participate in a series of panels and congregations, delivering learning from the programme to a cross-sector audience.

Prof Katy Shaw joined the North East England Pavilion for ‘Beyond the Studio: Building Creative Ecosystems’, reflecting on how the music, art and creative industries drive culture and pride in place. With leading figures from the regions culture sector and creative industries, this panel event explored the importance of building infrastructure with and alongside creative clusters in order for industry and communities to grow and thrive.

The UKREiiF annual conference is a significant gathering of more than 16,000 professionals from all levels of government, private sectors, R&D innovation and built environment industry hosted each year in Leeds. Each year, the conference is a vital opportunity to convene on issues of place and partnership, and to create new community connections.
