Prof Katy Shaw to keynote Discovering Collections, Discovering Communities conference 2025

Prof Katy Shaw, Director of the AHRC Creative Communities programme, will keynote the 2025 Discovering Collections, Discovering Communities conference. The DCDC conference is a major international, cross-sector event hosted in partnership by The British Library, Jisc, and The National Archives.

Founded in 2013, the conference brings together delegates from the gallery, library, archive, and museum sectors and the academic community (GLAMA) with the key aim of promoting cross-sector collaboration and knowledge sharing. The 2025 conference asks participants to Choose Your Own Future and consider themes of resilient communities and sustainable solutions.

Prof Katy Shaw will reflect on the AHRC Creative Communities programme’s mission to break down barriers to opportunity and foster inclusive innovation with communities across all four nations of the UK. Katy will reflect on the programme’s work to address regional inequality through co-creation and collaboration with communities, and shares case studies from the programme and thoughts on how the GLAMA sector can continue to help drive culture growth.

The 2025 DCDC conference will be hosted at Durham University. This will be the first year with fully hybrid and international access – including in-person and virtual opportunities to participate in networking events and engage with cultural heritage sites and organisations in Durham.

You can find more information and details on how to register via the DCDC conference website. More information about the AHRC Creative Communities programme is available across our website.
